If went to Newark International is a hell of a lot closer to the pier terminal. It is located 10 miles on the way to Newark Airport via I-78, verse 33 miles from John F. Kennedy airport.
The only option is a taxi or something, because there is no link transit to Cape Liberty. Also, the terminal operator tells you that you should call you. Because it is a walk of two miles from the station and walk three miles from the nearest bus stop.
